Nymph Energy

15/11/2018

Beautiful women dancing around the forest, their hair entwined with vines and adorned with flowers.  Their laughter echoing as they frolic barefoot weaving through the trees singing songs of fertility, beauty and love to our mother earth.  In Greek Mythology the Nymph is a female spirit that is drawn to a natural area such as groves, forests, springs, rivers etc.

Nymphs are a symbol of freedom
Freedom of Expression
Expression of Creativity

To understand what I mean, remember the last time you were in a natural setting.  Barefoot upon the earth connecting to that raw powerful energy of nature and feeling the strong creative spark ignite within.

You felt it surge throughout your body and for that moment you were one with that energy with no limitations knowing that anything was possible.

Well that is what I mean by Freedom, Expression and Creativity.

The Nymph's are guardians of all things natural and protect the balance of nature.

Their freedom shows through with their promiscuous behaviour and they find themselves frequently chased by Satyrs, the half-man half-goat gods of the woodlands. These Satyrs are reported to have an excessive libido and who spent most of their time frolicking in the groves and playing on their musical instruments when they were not chasing beautiful young women and nymphs.

Nymphs generally distance themselves from any sort of human contact, but are sometimes stumbled upon by those ill-fated humans wandering through the forest.  Be it their song that draws the humans close, or a glimpse of the nymph bathing in the moonlight, these encounters could be dangerous.  With the freedom of expression and promiscuity of the nymph it usually results in an intense sexual experience that leaves the traveller with an infatuation with the nymph sometimes sending them mad.

Nymphs are considered very beautiful and go to great lengths to care of their appearance.  They are honoured and admired because of their beauty, their freedom and also their sensuality.  Those who have connected to the energy of the Nymph seem to have that ‘something’ about them that people are attracted to but cannot seem to pinpoint exactly what it is.

An otherworldly energy

Picture
The word "nymph" is used in the modern world but is mostly used in a negative manner to describe a women who is considered ‘too’ promiscuous.

This word was altered to the term ‘nymphomaniac’ to describe a woman with an ‘excessive’ need for sex, however the Nymphs within the myths are not considered as loose women despite the fact that they have the freedom of choice to sleep with who they want, when they want, and how many they want, whether human (man or woman), hero, goddess or god.

These nymphs are women who know their own strength, who choose freedom and are confident enough to live a life exactly how they choose to do so.

By connecting with Nymph energy you too can draw on that strength, freedom and confidence to live your life on your terms and also to connect with your sexual power.

I ask what is negative about that

As we move towards summer, with the weather warming and the energy increasing, take the time to connect to the energy of the Nymph.

Bring forth your inner strength and freedom
Connect with the sensuality of the Nymph

You can visualise this, but the connection can be so much deeper to actually participate in the exercise.

Find yourself a secluded space in a park, forest, beach, near a lake or even in your own backyard if you have a special area.  If you cannot be outdoors, indoors is fine, and just visualise.

Try to make sure that it is somewhere that you will not be disturbed.  Be sure to be dressed in comfortable clothing.  Something that makes you feel sensual, free, uninhibited but remember, if you are in a public place, make sure it is appropriate.

You may wish to add flowers to your hair or if so inclined you can create a flower wreath to wear to really tune into the energy of the nymph.

When you are in your place of preference, take off your shoes and feel your connection to the earth, feel her energy pulsing through your body.

Stand there for a moment completely still and feel the connection growing.

Listen.

Hear the beat your heart.

The life force flowing around your body, your heart beating in tune with that of mother earths.

Notice of the sounds around you.

The earth speaking to you.

Feel the energy of the plant life around you, it’s aura flowing lending their energy to you.
Picture

Now call to the Nymphs.

Feel their beautiful energy surrounding you.

Feel the breeze against your skin as they dance around you sharing their energy with you.

You will start to feel their energy filling you, awakening things within you that have laid dormant for so long.

You may have a song or tune that is starting to play within your mind.  Vocalise this sound.  If you do not have a tune in mind, just start to hum, your tune will come to you.

With this, you will feel drawn to start to move and dance around in a flowing motion.

Feel the air against your skin as you move around your space, like a lover gently running their fingers against your skin.

Let yourself move, express your inner freedom.  Move however you feel inspired to move.

Now feel your inner Nymph rise from deep within and start moving with fluid sensual movements, moving your hips, floating your arms, closing your eyes and feel the energy rising.

Feel your hair moving freely, as if flowing in the breeze.

Feel the energy rising up, feel your beauty shining, your creativity flowing and your freedom of expression rising.

Know that with freedom comes strength and a women's strength is seductive.  When you feel you have made your connection, move with it for as long as you feel called to.

Picture

When you are finished, you will need to ground.

Sit on the earth and place your hands on the ground and feel any excess energy leaving you, returning to the earth.

Know that you can connect to your Nymph energy at any time.  All you need do is remember how you felt within the moment, and recall the feeling of the energy.

Recalling a memory of your sexual power and strength, perhaps that energy when you were making love and you let yourself go within that moment.

You can begin to move, swaying your hips and feel that energy rise up within.

Sit within nature and feel the Nymphs around you, caring for the earth.  Dancing and singing their energy to the earth.

We need more strong women in the world so make your connection, take back your power, accept your sensual energy and take pleasure in your freedom of choice and expression.

Cleansing  your Space  ~  Setting an intention

It can be so simple to create a beautiful and energetically clear home.

A place where the energy is clean and clear, where you are comfortable to be with yourself, to be able to look within connecting with the energy that surrounds you to be inspired to be the creative and authentic self that you are.

Cleansing a home can be done in many forms.  It can be a quick ritual or a long ritual.  It can be done by using Incense, Music, Chanting, Movement etc.

For this blog post I will walk you through a longer ritual using incense to cleanse.

Cleansing the energy of your space and it can make such a difference within the life.

Picture
So here is how to start

Grab yourself some incense.  You can use a smudge stick, sweet grass, palo santo or even a few sticks of incenses.

So which ever incense you choose light it up, open the windows and let’s get started

With your incense smouldering away, move through your home...

When performing a deep cleanse, I start from my front entry and walk all the way around the house, along the walls smoking them and
breaking up the energy.

As I move around I chant or sing.

Nothing in particular, just what comes to mind.

You may want to choose or write a special chant that will help increase your intention of cleansing your home or you may want to put some of your favourite music on to sing and dance to that to increase the energy.

You may find this can take quite a bit of time, depending on how big your home is, but trust me, it’s worth it.

Once you have finished cleansing your whole home, you should also walk around the outside of your home, in your yard, garages, laundry etc, totally cleansing the property.
Picture

All done…

That’s great….

Can you feel the difference in the energy?

You can now, if you feel it is needed, walk through the rooms of your home and set an intention.

For instance, you can connect to your flow when in your bedroom and visualise and set the intention that you will always have a restful sleep within this room.

For the lounge room you may want to set an intention that this is a space where your family gathers to spend quality time together.

Within the kitchen you may set an intention that this is the space for nourishing your family, that your cupboard always be full and abundant.

The bathroom, you may want to set the intention that when bathe you are also energetically cleansing yourself.

It is beautiful and empowering taking responsibility of the energy within your home and making it a powerful and beautiful environment for you and your family.

You should cleanse your home on a regular basis.

This big cleanse I usually perform around the change of the seasons (or if someone has been ill within the home) however I usually walk through the home with some incense smoking each week freshening up the energy.

So get some incense, put on some music and cleanse your space.

Natural Deodorant

Making my own deodorant is another way in which I work towards my life of being as self sufficient as possible, making what I need within my home using natural ingredients.

When I realised how simple it was to make my own, how cost effective it was and how much better it is for our body and our beautiful planet I was blown away at why I had never thought about doing this before.

Making my own deodorant is another way for me to step a little lighter on our plant not using the chemicals or purchasing something that will (the container) be thrown away adding more rubbish to the earth.

Also a big thing for me is having recognised that the cleaner I eat, the better food I consume the better my connection to the universal energy.    So it only makes sense to use natural products on your body right?

So do me a favour, go and get your deodorant.

Have you looked at the ingredient list on the side of your deodorant?

While grocery shopping today, I took a photo of a popular brand of deodorant and here is the list of ingredients.

Butane, Isobutane, Propane, Cyclomethicone, Aluminum Chlorohydrate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Parfum, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Talc, Persea Gratissima Oil, Octyldodecanol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone, Propylene Carbonate, Dimethiconol, Geraniol, Benzyl Alcohol.

Yep that is what is written on the ingredients list.

This is what you are spraying on your body every day.

All that seeping into your skin, most of which you have no idea what it is.

Arhhhh, I cannot think of anything worse.

Now if you feel called to, after seeing that list of ingredients, throw it away and never use it again and begin to create your own.

Here is the simple way in which I create my own deodorant.   There are many recipes out there, but this is what works for me.

Another positive to making your own deodorant is create your own scents using different essential oils.  Today I made mine using a few drops of both Ylang Ylang and Lavender.  It smells divine!

You can make a big amount that will last you longer, however I make little batches, so I can change the scent every couple of weeks.
Picture

So here is my recipe….

Mix equal parts of coconut oil and cornflour together then add some essential oil, the number of drops of essential oils depends on the size of your batch.

Yes, that is it.

Today I made a batch, which prompted me to take photos and write this blog post.  I used a tablespoon of coconut oil, a tablespoon of cornflour and approx. 6 drops of essential oil.

After it is mixed you just need to place it within a clean container which you can purchase or use something you already have around your home.

And that is it, you now have your own natural deodorant created bu you.  With your scent and energy held within.

Picture
You don’t have to make such a small amount as I did, just make sure when making a large amount that the oil and cornflour are equal in quantity.

You do not have to melt the coconut oil before you mix it with the cornflour, as soon as you start mixing it, it will soften.

To use, just grab a small amount with your finger (I use an amount about the size of a 5 cent piece) and rub it on your under arm.

You might find, in the winter months your deodorant hardens within the container.   What I do to combat that is get that little bit out, place it under my arm and put my arm down to let my body heat warm the oil.  After about 3o seconds I lift my arm and it is perfect consistency to rub on your underarm.

So I encourage you to no longer purchase your deodorant with all the chemicals and switch to using this natural and easy to make alternative.

Much love
Niki
